“Wholesome” is also about reducing food waste & raising awareness on world hunger issues to help save lives.“We never waste food. I am a grandchild of an Armenian Genocide survivor, my grandparents were forced to leave their homes and marched on dessert without food & water. I learned at an early age not to waste any food, as, there are people in the world who die of hunger as we speak ” says Christina.
Christina has pledged to donate a large part of the book profits to various charitable organizations that fight hunger, such as the World Food Programme.

What is special about this particular cookbook is that Christina avoids using processed flours and artificial sugars. It is important to note that research shows the dangers of consuming processed foods, bleached flours, & artificial sugars.
These types of foods are linked to diabetes, obesity & different types of cancers. This is why we should pay attention to the ingredients of the food we buy and make sure it only contains a few simple ingredients. This is not a calorie count but knowing what ingredients we put inside our bodies.
Christina Gurunian was born & raised in Beirut, Lebanon. While her work experience is very rich & diverse, her real passion remains to be art & food in rich flavor and great quality. Christina currently lives in Montreal, Canada with her husband and son and tries to balance her life between work, motherhood, continuing education & hobbies.
